Things to do / Travel Guide
Lake Tahoe may be famous for its world-class skiing, but in the late summer this little resort town heats up as the AVP Tour comes rolling in to the Sierra Nevada region for a week of intense volleyball action. You can see the “Best of the Beach” as Lake Tahoe hosts one of the last AVP tournaments of the professional season.
If you're on the way from the mountains to the coast you may want to stop off in California's state capital and check out the NBA's Sacramento Kings as they play in the ARCO Arena. The arena also hosts the occasional NHL game, and even a WWE pay-per-view event from time to time.
If you like your sports to include livestock, try the Reno Rodeo, an event held every summer at Reno's Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center and billed as the “wildest, richest rodeo in the West.”
