Things to do / Travel Guide
There are dozens of casinos in the Sierra Nevada region, both on the California side and across the border in Nevada. As gambling is legal throughout the state of Nevada, there are casinos aplenty in this region, especially in the Lake Tahoe and Reno areas. All types of gambling games are offered, such as blackjack, slots, roulette, poker, mini-baccarat, video poker, keno, video slots, Three-Card Poker, Let It Ride, bingo, baccarat, pai gow poker, Caribbean Stud Poker, and much more. If you're 21 or older, you can gamble in any of the Nevada casinos, which are all open 24/7. The California casinos, on the other hand, are run by local Indian tribes, and most are open 24/7, although some operate for more limited hours. Almost all of the casinos on the California side of the Sierra Nevada region offer video poker, bingo, video keno, slots, and poker. On this side of the border, you must be 18 or older to enter a casino, and 21 or older if alcohol is served on the premises.
