Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Illinois River. Challenge the 40 miles of Class IV-V rapids, turbulent and unpredictable waters not suited for the weak of heart or faint of spirit. This section is located in southwest Oregon, west of Grants Pass, 10 miles west of US Hwy 199 on Co Hwy 5070 Rd.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from March to May, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 3 days to 4 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, and whitewater experience is recommended. Outfitters on the Illinois River offer trips suitable for families.
Expect to See: Deer, black bears, osprey, bald eagles, and river otter in an environment of wilderness, canyons, forests, and mountains.
