Aside from 10 miles of hiking trails, water sports like kayaking and awesome fishing, Cove Palisades boasts fantastic camping on two major grounds and authentic rustic cabins for overnight stays. The park is filled with high desert flora and fauna and boasts a unique natural resource area which supports one of the last pristine remnants of pre-settlement ecology in the western United States. In addition, there is a store and a restaurant here available for the comfort of park goers. Annual events here include Lake Billy Chinook Day in September and the annual Eagle Watch in February, so if in the area during these times of the year, be sure to pay this park a visit.

Cape Arago may be the end of the road (the road out of Coos Bay goes no further), but it's really only the beginning if you want to explore the southern Oregon coast.
