Golf Courses in Oregon Coast from Astoria to Coos Bay to Gold Beach

Things to do / Travel Guide

The Oregon Coast region is known for being wild so it's no surprise to learn the local golf is the same way.

Take Bandon Dunes where the wind is one of the major hazards you'll face. The course is designed in the Scottish links style, and the frequent fog and large rolling greens may cause you to believe you're actually playing on the other side of the Atlantic! Walking is required, so if you're not in good shape or a serious golfer, you may want to think about playing elsewhere.

One alternative would be Pacific Dunes. But don't expect any relief here. You'll find a tremendous bunker system here, including some sand traps that over 60 feet long.
Again, walking is required, but as the course is relatively short, that fact shouldn't impede your game. The elements you'll encounter, however, might.

Other options which are not as challenging include the relatively flat Alderbrook Golf Course, the Bay Breeze Golf Course, which is a par 3 course where a lake comes into play on two holes, and Salishan, which was recently redesigned to include new views along its 400 additional yards.
