Our Museum Expert Says:

Experience the wonders of Polynesian culture! From knife dances to blazing swords, a visit to Hawaii's number one paid attraction never fails to intrigue and satisfy visitors of all ages.

Located in Laie, on the northern part of Oahu, the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) is located on land owned by the nearby Brigham Young University of Hawaii where most of the performers are enrolled as students. Considered one of the most widely visited tourist destinations in Hawaii, the PCC is home to the World's largest Polynesian light show. Visitors here can also experience cultural activities by the Central and South Pacific Ocean locals such as the annual World Fire Knife Dance Competition in which contestants display their skill with blazing swords, and the award-winning, multicultural, Polynesian show "Horizons: Where the Sea Meets the Sky;" the largest performance of its kind in the world. The PCC has its own IMAX Theater, as well as a lagoon where visitors can take canoe rides from one end of the park to the other. It is also home to the annual canoe pageant, "Rainbows of Paradise." In the evening, visitors can experience an authentic Hawaiian luau, a dinner-show feast, or enjoy a fine dining experience in a tropical restaurant or all-you-can-eat cosmopolitan dinner buffet.

The PCC is located about one hour's scenic drive from Waikiki. For those who wish to drive themselves, the Polynesian Cultural Center is located at 55-370 Kamehameha Highway in Laie, near Oahu's north shore. So if you're in the area, get ready for a unique Hawaiian cultural experience you won't soon forget!
