Oahu, Hawaii's most famous island, and home of the state capital, Honolulu, has some fabulous zoos!
Check out the Waikiki Aquarium, where the indoor galleries highlight the marine life of Hawaii and the tropical Pacific. Among the highlights are a seal pool, a hatchery, and a coral farm.
Sea Life Park offers you a chance to get involved with sea creatures as never before. There are programs that let you interact with manatees, sea lions, stingrays, and even sharks!
Kids of all ages will love Dolphin Quest - Oahu which has programs for children of different age groups. The youngest will go for Tot Quest, where they can touch, feed, and play with a dolphin. Sea Quest, for ages 10 and older, lets participants snorkel and ride water scooters while interacting with playful dolphins.
Think of the Honolulu Zoo as zoo-topia in utopia. Be sure to visit the African Savannah - a 10-acre wild preserve exhibit with more than 40 native African animals roaming about in the open.
