Scenery - Scenic Views in Honolulu, Waikiki and Oahu, Hawaii

Things to do / Travel Guide

A nice scenic lookout close to Honolulu is the Puu Ualaka's State Wayside, located on Tantalus Circle Drive. From here, you can catch a great view of the Honolulu skyline, Waikiki, and Punchbowl. Just adjacent to Waikiki is Diamond Head, the world-famous, natural icon of Hawaii itself.

Diamond Head, perhaps the most famous landmark in all of Hawaii, is the remains of an ancient volcanic crater. It overlooks the ocean, just by Waikiki. Here, you have to hike by foot to the 760' summit, where you can enjoy an expansive view of Waikiki, Honolulu, and the coastline.

Punchbowl Crater is the remains of another ancient volcano, overlooking Honolulu. The view isn't nearly as good as from Diamond Head, but it is much easier to get to and it is also the location of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

One of the most famous and spectacular scenic lookouts on the island is Pali lookout, located along the Pali Highway that connects Honolulu with Kailua on the windward side. The view from the sheer cliffs is truly fantastic and unforgettable.
