Oahu is an attractive adventure for everyone in the family, including children. There are plenty of different sites and things to experience around Oahu to keep the kids entertained, some of which are listed and described below.
Hanauma Bay offers a variety of water activities in a safe and sheltered setting. There are many shallow water activities for smaller kids to partake in here. Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park is full of fun slides and pools for kids of all ages to enjoy. A particularly nice feature of the water park is its separate areas for kids, teens, and adults.
For an adventure out in the open with older kids, try Kualoa Ranch, which offers horseback riding, hiking, and biking in beautiful surroundings. Kids of all ages can also explore wildlife in more comfortable settings at the Sea Life Park. Located at Makapuu Point, at Sea Life Park you can actually swim with dolphins and other marine life or just observe them from a distance if you wish.
For fun on dry land for the 12-and-under crowd, visit the Children's Discovery Center in Honolulu. There are plenty of hands-on activities here that are both fun and educational. The Discovery Center is located by the Aloha Tower near Honolulu Harbor. Another hands-on experience, where kids can learn about the local people and their way of life, can be had at the Cultural Learning Center of Kaala, located by Waianae.
The world-famous Polynesian Cultural Center can provide another interactive experience for your kids. Located on the island's windward side, this attraction offers various types of entertainment, including authentic Polynesian music, crafts, dance, and even a genuine, extravagant luau. In addition, many exciting cultural activities, such as carving, spear throwing, and tree climbing will give your kids a hands-on learning experience.
