Things to do / Travel Guide
Most people consider many of the activities around Oahu, such as scuba diving, adventurous. Some people, however, want to do something unique, different, and very exciting. Oahu has activities like these, too. Listed and described below are a number of different adventures you can take in Oahu.
- The North Shore Shark Adventures takes you four miles out from the coast, where you can swim with sharks (in a protective cage of course). The adventure is located at Haleiwa on the North Shore.
- For those of you who want to have an underwater adventure without getting wet, you can ride in an underwater sightseeing submarine with Atlantis Submarines. The excursion leaves from the Hilton Hawaiian Village Pier in Waikiki.
- Riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is the perfect way to have an off-road land adventure. Check out Kualoa Ranch ATV Ride, located at a very famous movie shooting location, where hits like “Jurassic Park” and “Pearl Harbor” were filmed, on the island's windward side, at beautiful Kaaawa Valley.
- If land and sea excursions aren't adventurous enough for you, try an adventure in the air! At Dillingham Air Field, located by Mokuleia, you can fly above the north shore in a glider and get a bird's eye view of Oahu's sights.
- For the ultimate thrill seeker, nothing beats skydiving. SkyDive Hawaii, located at Wahiawa, offers tandem skydiving, so, aside from a lot of courage, no prior experience is necessary.
