Our Ski Specialist Says:

The Loup Loup Ski Area is the kind of place where everybody knows your name. This small hill provides the best of all worlds, with friendly service, a secure atmosphere in which you can let your kids freely roam the mountain, and fair prices. The Loup Loup provides a friendly home town feeling even for its out of town visitors.

Loup Loup's is not the kind of place where you'll have to wait in line, and is a great place to get to know when you're in the region. It offers a 1,240 vertical foot drop with 10 runs. Despite its small hill stature, everyone is likely to find something suitable to their needs here. The hill is serviced by 4 lifts, including a Poma Quad chair lift installed in 1998 by a large communal effort. This lift ensures short lift lines and quick trips up the mountain.

The mountain's beginner runs are groomed nightly, and there are plenty of off-piste opportunities on the outskirts of most major runs for those looking for a little bit of powder. Boarders looking to spend some time on the mountain are free to roam on all ten trails and a halfpipe awaits them as well. Weather permitting, the mountain opens its door from late November and remains open up until early April. Make sure you check the mountain's schedule ahead of time, as it is only open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Weekends, and Holidays and these days change depending on the month.

If you're looking for a little time off your alpine skis, check out the 25km of groomed cross country trails right by the mountain. An additional 50km of cross country trails can be found only minutes away. There is also a tubing park available on the mountain with tube rentals available on site.

The mountain's day lodge has its own fairly priced cafeteria with snacks, meals, and a view of the mountain base. If you're looking for a little more sustenance for your evening meal, check out the nearby towns of Twisp, Omak, and Methow Valley. All three have a choice of dining venues to soothe your growling stomach, as well as various lodging options. You can find anything from inns and guest houses to motels to suit any budget.
