Locals and visitors heading north on I-5 north of Everett, Washington will find a collection of approximately 40 outlet stores right off exit 229. The Outlet Shoppes at Burlington include the usual collection of outlet stores, including Bass, Eddie Bauer, Nike and, of course, The Gap Outlet.

To clear up some confusion, the names Outlet and Burlington refer to lots of different places, including outlet malls in Burlington, Vermont and Burlington Outlet Village in North Carolina. Assuming you are interested in the Burlington Outlet Mall in Washington State, please know that it is alive and well, and has been providing good deals for many years. As happens often in the outlet mall business, the ownership and the name has changed. Until a few years ago, it was a Prime Outlet, then a Premium Outlet and now it is owned by the Horizon Group. Currently, the Mall is now called The Outlet Shoppes at Burlington. Premium Outlets has two locations in the Seattle, Washington area. The Seattle Premium Outlets is about a 15 minute drive south on I-5 towards Everett at Marysville. Further south, a second Premium Outlet location is at North Bend, Washington.

If you are willing to give up on outlet shopping, spend some time in the quaint town of La Conner – you may end up buying some interesting and unique items. Reminder – this is the Burlington in Washington. Washington State, not Washington, DC. For some reason, the various towns names Burlington and outlet malls seem to go hand in hand.
