Travel the Philippines by tricycle or enjoy sushi in Japan! The Seattle Children's Museum is the premiere institution for children in the Northwest and is a total kid adventure.
The Children's Museum was originally founded as a non-profit organization by devoted parents who wanted to bring their kids fun through hands-on exploration of the world. Today, the Museum boasts eight permanent exhibits, including the Bijou Theater, Cog City, Discovery Bay, Global Village, and Imagination Studio all of which are optimized for early learning. In the Mountain Forest, kids can actually hike up a mountain past a waterfall and a cave full of bats or ride a kid-sized Metro-bus and Fire engine in the Neighborhood. Plenty of other educational activities are available as well, such as the Young Inventors Club, and Imagination Studio where kids are encouraged to create art with recycled materials.
Since food and snacks are not available here, be sure to plan ahead or grab a bite to eat around Seattle Center. The Children's Museum is located in the heart of the city on the 11-acre campus of the Seattle Center on the ground floor of the Center House. From North or Southbound Interstate 5, take the Mercer Street exit and follow the signs to Seattle Center - street and lot parking are available. If you're looking for a day of fun for the whole family, The Children's Museum in Seattle is just the place for exploration and will leave you coming back for more.
