Sol Duc Campground is nestled along the Sol Duc River between dense evergreen old-growth rainforests and glistening pure streams. The setting of this Campground, located in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula, is one of the most beautiful in Olympic National Park. This campground is a perfect destination for a family vacation – kids will love the mysterious forest and will enjoy the small streams flowing all over the place.

Adjacent to the campground are the Sol Duc Hot Springs, a popular tourist attraction that allows soaking in hot spring pools set against breathtaking scenery. There are some great hiking trails, including the trail to the beautiful Sol Duc Falls (1.6 miles out and back) that start at the Sol Duc Campground. During September and October salmon can be observed spawning along the Sol Duc River and the surrounding streams – a sight not to be missed!

Sol Duc Campground, one of 17 in Olympic National Park, is a medium sized campground with 82 sites, including some extremely scenic riverside sites. Sites are relatively big and spread out, separated by huge trees, allowing for a spacious and private camping experience. Due to its proximity to the Sol Duc Hot Springs, this campground is very popular. Since reservations are not accepted, it is highly advised to arrive early during summer holidays and weekends. Sol Duc Campground is open year round. It is not suitable for motorhomes exceeding 21 feet. Facilities in the campground include flush toilets (pit toilets in winter), drinking water, picnic tables, and fire grills. In order to reach Sol Duc Campground, drive from Port Angeles west on US 101 for 28 miles, turn left at the intersection (located west of Lake Crescent) and continue 12 mile to the camp. Rain is frequent in the humid region so be sure to bring along adequate rain gear. Bring the whole family for an adventure-filled vacation of hiking, camping, and soaking in luxurious hot springs!
