Our Beach Bum Says:

Olympic National Park isn't just about mountains and hiking – there's a whole world of water, sand, and beach-fun, too! And that's what you'll find at Olympic National Park's Kalaloch Beach – a whole lot of fun!

If you're coming to Kalaloch, we recommend staying over. There are two campgrounds and a lodge to choose from, all great options. And in terms of recreation, you'll find a ranger station with exhibits, a picnic area, self-guided nature trails, hiking along the peninsula, fantastic birdwatching, and swimming, of course. There's enough here to keep you busy for days, if not longer!

While the water may be too cold during the fall and winter months, it's still worth a trip out to Kalaloch even during the coldest of times. Bring your rain gear and enjoy some spectacular beach storms. And you'll find the most amazing sunsets year round at Kalaloch Beach! There are large rocks in the water and when the sun is setting, the light hits them just right causing for a very dramatic contrast between the dark rocks and the light water and sky – it is a truly a sight to be seen!

Kalaloch Beach and its neighbor, Ruby Beach, are located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula, just off of Highway 101.

See for yourself why Kalaloch Beach is the most visited part of Olympic National Park!
