Things to do / Travel Guide
Northwest Washington and the Cascades offers plenty of golf for players of all skill levels. Here are some samples:
Washington National starts out long, flat, and tree-lined, and keeps getting better hole by hole.
Trophy Lake Golf and Casting is exactly what it says. The fairly flat track will not completely wear you out if you have it in your mind to go fly fishing after finishing 18 holes - because you can do so right on the property!
Two things you should know about the Gold Mountain Golf Complex Olympic Course: One, your short game is your ticket to success here due to the nature of the quick, undulating greens and the heavy bunkering that surrounds them. Two, you'll also need your long game, especially on the 621-yard monster 18th hole.
The Port Ludlow Golf Club - Tide/Timber Course is a mix-and-match operation, where you get put two of three 9-hole tracks together to play 18.
Semiahmoo is one of those courses beginners should avoid if they don't want to give up the game as too hard. The Audubon Society has recognized this course for maintaining its abundance of wildlife in the heavily-wooded design. But don't take your eyes off the course for too long. The greens are very fast and rolling, and there are plenty of sand bunkers.
