Venture down the whitewater of the Desolation section of the Green River. Experience the 94 miles of Class II-III rapids, passing through famous Desolation Canyon, filled with ancient Indian art, abandoned homesteads and ruins. This section is located in eastern-central Utah, south of Vernal, 40 miles north of I-70.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from April to October, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 3 days to 6 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, oar rafts, kayaks, inflatable kayaks, and motorized rafts.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips. Outfitters on the Desolation section of the Green River offer trips suitable for families.
