Our Ski Specialist Says:

The name of this resort is quite fitting, considering its genuine, mother-earth-made Utah powder that blankets these slopes. Powder Mountain was ranked number one in snow quality in the 2006 Ski Magazine readers survey, and with 500 inches of natural snow a year and top-rated untracked trails, the snow is truly worth talking about (and skiing upon). The friendly service and family atmosphere also help in establishing a pleasant, laid-back feel. The resort is located 19 miles northeast of the town of Ogden, 55 miles from the International Airport and has plenty of slope-side lodging as well as options in nearby areas.

While Powder Mountain is famous for its untracked trails, there are plenty of well-groomed intermediate, beginner and advanced runs. There is over 1,200 acres of backcountry skiing available, with a shuttle for a ride back to the lifts. Lightening Ridge, accessible by snowcat, has plenty of trees, chutes and bowls. Powder Mountain has two terrain parks. The Sundown Terrain Park, located on Confidence run, is designed for all skill levels, and includes box-top rails, handrails, and a table-top. Riders will be thrilled to know it is open 13 hours a day. Hidden lake Terrain Park is designed for more advanced snowboarders, and contains handrails, tabletops, a spine hit, a quarterpipe and a 400 foot halfpipe located on the lower section of the park.

From Powder Mountain Ski Resort - Huntsville, Utah:

5,500 acres covering three mountains adds up to the most skiable terrain in the US. With this much space, you won't share any of the 86 runs with a crowd. Only Mother Nature makes snow at Powder Mountain. With 500 inches each year, why bother with artificial snow? Besides great powder, real snow makes beautifully groomed corduroy. Find out why we say More Fun, Real Snow! We are renowned for untracked powder, but a large variety of runs are groomed nightly so that every level of boarder and skier joins in the fun.
