Our Ski Specialist Says:

For the genuine winter vacation experience and some truly amazing skiing, Park City resort is sure to please. Home to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, Park City boasts excellent conditions and, perhaps more importantly, lively nightlife options and a dedicated après ski crowd. Honored by Rough Guide as a top seven party-resort destination, Park City has a scene for every style - from live music and a warm fireplace to rowdy sports bars, dance clubs and in late January - the world famous Sundance Film Festival. Base, summit and mid-mountain lodges provide plenty of restaurants and cafes, and for those who want to maximize their time on the slopes, several "skiosks" scattered around the mountain mean skiers don't even have to take off their skis to grab a quick bite. Now that's luxury. If that's not enough action, the resort is located just four miles from Park City, which serves as a hub for restaurants, shopping, nightlife and hotels.

Park City Resort has over 100 trails for all skill levels, including a green trail that starts at the summit and winds all the way down to base. The dry powder is characteristic of Utah and draws fans from all over the world. The resort hosts 750 acres of bowls, fourteen lifts, and one hundred runs - with up to 50 groomed daily. Jupiter Bowl has some steep terrain for experts. Narrow gullies and chutes, like Silver Cliff, 6 Bells and Indicator, drop quickly between packed evergreens. For intermediates, the Payday run is popular, especially when it is lit up at night. The 11 trails served by King Consolidated are also a top pick. For beginners, a 3.5 mile long trail called Homerun is a good place to start. The resort also has some of the best terrain parks and halfpipes in the country, including the Eagle Superpipe which was used for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Add that to a lighted halfpipe and four terrain parks of varying size and difficulty, and you've got everything a freerider could ask for.
