Deer Valley defines elegance when it comes to ski resort style. Deer Valley resort is made up of four mountains and one canyon, with Bald Eagle at 8,400 feet and Empire Canyon at 9,570 feet. Deer Valley is known for its manicured and well-groomed slopes. As such, there are plenty of long, smooth cruising runs. Experts will enjoy the steep trails on top of Empire Canyon with aspen and evergreen glades and plenty of tree skiing. The chutes and bowls off Empire Canyon will also please, and there is more advanced terrain off the Sultan and Mayflower chairs – with plenty of bumps. The Empire Express gives skiers access to 500 acres of eight chutes and three bowls. Plenty of moguls, bumps, cruising and glades characterize expert terrain. Half of Deer Valley's terrain is considered intermediate –and for some of the best runs, head to Sunset, Birdseye, and Success. Success is a long run that is also great for beginners. There is a separate area for beginners on Bald Eagle Mountain referred to as Wide West. Tricks 'N' Turns (TNT) is a skiers-only terrain park in the Empire Canyon area and is focused on intermediate level skiers. It includs fun boxes, double barrels, single rails and some small jumps. Snowboarding is not allowed at Deer Valley.
