Life must be lived forward, but can only be understood backwards,- profound words by the well-known philosopher, Soren Kierkegaard-a simple concept that has been lost in the demands of the world. The past teaches us valuable lessons, both good and bad. As we look backward at our successes as well as our shortcomings, we learn to better respect and appreciate our heritage. The essence of the American West Heritage Center is to provide an opportunity to reflect backward to better live forward.
