Things to do / Travel Guide
Northern Utah is centered around Salt Lake City, and it is there that you'll find two of the three zoos featured in this region.
Hogle Zoo is a great zoo that is home to more than 250 species and 1,100 animals. Exotic plants and birds live in the complex's solarium. You can also see a Ball python, a Collared lizard, a Lilac-breasted Roller, and a Red panda.
You'll need a few hours to see all the beautiful birds in the Tracy Aviary. One exhibit is a free flight aviary built in an “abandoned” homestead on the pampas of Argentina. Free-flying bird shows are presented during the summer months.
Finally, near the northern border of the state, in Logan, you'll find the Willow Park Zoo. Over 100 species of birds and 12 species of mammals inhabit the place, and visitors can see bald eagles, hawks, raccoons, wallabies, elk, and coyotes, among many other types of animals.
