Utah has been Jazz country ever since the NBA team of that name moved into Salt Lake City from New Orleans in 1979. Since the retirement of the terrific tandem of Karl Malone and John Stockton, the Delta Center has played host to Russian All-Star Andrei Kirilenko and his ball bouncing teammates.
The other major venue in the region, Rice-Eccles Stadium, hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The stadium is also the home field of the University of Utah's college football squad as well as Real Salt Lake, the local Major League Soccer team.
