Snorkelers who can bear the chill often bring their own gear to plunge into the waters of Bear Lake near the Idaho-Utah border, Strawberry Reservoir near Heber City in Uinta National Forest, and Flaming Gorge Reservoir near the Wyoming-Utah border. If you need something closer to body temperature, however, try snorkeling in northern Utah's toasty-warm Bonneville Seabase, in Grantsville, which features three bays fed by hot springs and stocked with schools of colorful tropical fish.
