Expert White Water Rafting Review

Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Taos section of the Rio Grande. Challenge the 17 miles of Class III-IV (Taos Box) rapids, the wildest and most exciting ride in New Mexico. This section is located in northern New Mexico, north west of Taos, 2.5 miles west of Route 522 on County Road B-007.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from April to July, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 1 day to 3 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips.

Expect to See: A rich canyon environment.
