Before we discuss the places of interest in Santa Fe, we have to point out that Sanat Fe is not like anywhere else in the United States.There are only a handful of cities in the United States that have an authentically different feel and Santa Fe is definitely one of them. The art, the architecture and the atmosphere will make it clear to even the first time visitor that this destination is different from all other destinations. The city is over 400 years old, enough time for several different cultures to pass through – some via the Santa Fe Trail, some via the Camino Real, some in a Chevy Roadmaster on Route 66 and some on Southwest Airlines. In spite of its age and partially due to its welcoming spirit, Santa Fe has maintained a Hispanic flavor, seen in its architecture, art, food and its people.

You will not find tall buildings in Santa Fe, but you will find what may be the worlds best collection of adobe architecture, from churches dating back to the 1600's to modern mansions just completed in the trademark adobe style. The art scene is one of the hottest in the United States and has been so for decades. Although Santa Fe has a unique style, the variety of art shown in Santa Fe galleries is very large. Besides the galleries, there are several excellent museums and art spaces in town.

With just about everyone either an artist or art lover, New Age attractions and spas can't be far behind, so expect to find Zen centers, yoga classes and every type of spiritual activity under the sun (or stars). Other Santa Fe places of interest are the hotels and spas around town. The experience will not be inexpensive, but will be unforgettable. Even some of the budget motels look special in the Santa Fe environment.
