This is the legend - Taos. Pure skiing. New Mexico's best known and perhaps greatest ski area is open to skiiers only. That means no snowboarders to disturb the smooth powder or the undulating moguls. Classic skiing at a classic resort that is often compared to Alta in Utah. The steeps are for experts, and those who want the greatest challange Taos offers can hike up to Kachina Peak. Despite the fame, Taos isn't as crowded as other western resorts. It is still run by the original founding family and features one of the top ranked ski schools in the country.
