Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad
This railroad has changed little since it was built in the corner of southern Colorado in the 1880s. A ride, originating from either Antonito or Chama, on one of these steam locomotives is available seven days a week and will take you through high-up trestles, dark tunnels, and dizzying gorges. It's a great way to spend the afternoon and see the region as the first commuters did, long before nearby highways were built.
