Expert White Water Rafting Review

Experience the whitewater of the Lochsa River. Shoot the 60 miles of Class III-IV+ rapids, with over 25 rapids this run should only be considered for those in good physical condition. This section is located in north-central Idaho, on the border of Montana and Idaho, south west of Missoula, on Elk Meadows Rd off Hwy 12.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from May to August, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 1 day to 3 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips, and whitewater experience is recommended. Outfitters on the Lochsa River offer trips suitable for families (only in low river section).
