Our Ski Specialist Says:

Located in Northwestern Montana, right by the Canadian Border, Turner Mountain Ski Resort provides 20 runs of various levels, so as to suit the level requirements of all visitors. Turner Mountain supplies its guests with deep powder and steep terrain at an affordable price.

Turner Mountain is an all-volunteer-run ski resort located just 22 miles north of Libby, Montana. The terrain is composed of a 2110 foot vertical drop, with one main lift taking riders up the mountain. The lift has three drop offs en route to the top, thereby first servicing the beginner trails at the bottom half of the mountain, before taking the more advanced skiers to their higher altitude trails. This mountain is definitely for those with a little more experience under their belt but lessons are available from the lodge for those looking for some instruction.

There are no specific areas here for snowboarders, so make sure to bring your leash with you if you want to ride the mountain. Note that there is currently no electricity or running water in the area, so come prepared. Weather permitting, Turner Mountain's season runs from November to April, with the mountain open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as on holidays. The mountain's hours on these days run from 9:30am to 4:00pm.

If you're looking for some slower paced fun, there are 25km of cross country skiing trails in the area. If you're looking for a bite to eat or a place to lay your head, check out the nearby towns of Libby and Troy, both of which provide a selection of restaurants and accommodations.
