Located on the Front Range of the Montana Rockies, Teton Pass Ski Area offers great skiing and snowboarding for skiers of any level on a varied terrain. If you're looking for a small and cozy resort, with lots of snow, Teton Pass is your diamond in the rough. On a clear and sunny day, the views themselves make the trip up worthwhile.
Teton Pass is located right in the heart of the Rocky Mountain Front, There are 26 trails here served by 2 lifts. The more adventurous skiers will want to toss their skis over their shoulders, and begin the hike up to the top of 10,086-foot Mount Glory. At the top you'll find yourself looking down at several thousand feet of pristine powder. Once you've skied down this marvelous piece of land you'll hit Highway 22, from which you can hitch a ride back to your car or the resort.
If you head up Mount Glory you'll most likely bump into Teton Pass' crowds, so if you're looking for a quieter day on the slopes, find someone who knows their way around to take you up Oliver Peak. Measuring 9,004 feet, the beautiful climb up the mountain leads to pines and firs surrounded by untouched snow, a powder bowl, and some extreme pitches.
Snowboarders are welcome to test out their boards on all the mountain's trails, two of which have natural halfpipes. If you're on Mount Glory, make sure to hike up that boot packed trail, for after fifteen minutes of pain you'll be ensured an entire day of pleasure. Man made kickers make up Mount Glory's snowboarders haven, and are definitely worth the effort of trekking up the mountain.
A variety of additional activities are available in the area. These include cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowskating. The more fit skiers may want to hike up the mountain, but getting down without skis or board tends to be a bit more difficult.
For a quick bite, check out the cafeteria and the Skiers Land Lodge. Both offer lunch and even have some alcoholic beverages available. The nearby towns of Choteau and Conrad offer up a real taste of Montana. With casual dining, and a real Western experience, they are a great place to spend the evening before or after tearing up the slopes. Both towns, as well as nearby Great Falls, have motels, B&Bs, and even a guest ranch for those looking for an authentic adventure.
