Our Ski Specialist Says:

Schweitzer Mountain is big. Its skiable acres are unrivalled in the state of Idaho, and its vertical drop, measuring in at 2,400 feet, is second only to Sun Valley's 3,400 feet. Make sure to check out this mountain quickly, as the word has just gotten out about this previously relatively unknown mountain, and it is sure to become a skier's haven shortly.

Schweitzer Mountain is spread out over two huge bowls, which comprise the mountain's 2,900 skiable acres. The mountain has 82 runs, serviced by 10 lifts, and includes numerous glades, chutes, and gashes blessed with over 300 inches of snow a year. Thanks to the mountain's large size and lack of crowds, the mountain's snow remains in mint condition longer than at busier places, just waiting for you to plow through it.

The mountain's terrain is varied, and ensures skiers of all levels have a great ride while sailing or snowplowing down the mountain. Recent improvements have ensured easier access to the mountain's varied terrain. A moving carpet helps little ones and new skiers get to the top of the beginners learning area, and a new surface lift provides access to Schweitzer's back country, where five advanced runs and glades and a fantastic view await you.

Worry not boarders! Schweitzer was not designed solely for skiers. Its varied terrain with four bowls, wide runs and glades, and a full-time halfpipe and terrain park are sure to keep you too entertained. Make sure to check out the events schedule for the wide variety of boarding events and parties waiting just for you. Schweitzer is open daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm, so come early to take advantage of the low skier to skiable acre ratio.

Schweitzer and the surrounding areas offer a variety of on and off the slope activities including: Sleigh rides, snowmobile tours, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, NASTAR racing, hot tubs, spa services, live music and entertainment, free movies for the kids, and many many more.

Schweitzer's recent improvements now ensure guests don't have to leave the resort for anything. It offers a variety of dining and entertainment options, with dining options ranging from fresh coffee and breakfast burritos to fresh seafood. For a change of scenery and pace, head on over to beautiful Sandpoint, located just 11 miles away. Sandpoint offers up a multitude of dining and entertainment options sure to stimulate your senses.

The resort offers an impressive variety of lodging options, from a rustic European styled lodge to contemporary modern architecture.
