Watch the butterflies flutter by. See all the insects you ever wanted to see. All in a tropical garden, complete with waterfalls and classical music transplanted to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Up to 1000 butterflies are flying in the Butterfly House. They include Monarchs, Blue and White Longwing, Cattletheart, Clipper, Gold Rim and many more species. Not to be outdone, the exotic insects, represented by the Rhino Beetle and some mean looking Scorpions and Spiders, will interest yound and old.

After visiting with the butterflies, take a stroll through our new exotic giant insect exhibit where reptiles and amphibians living in their natural habitat help keep things lively. Kids of all ages will love the new interactive displays and our "Turtle Adventure Park". The Original Mackinac Island Butterfly House is the third oldest LIVE butterfly exhibit in the United States. The world renowned facility has 1800 sq ft of tropical garden filled with hundreds of live butterflies from around the world.
