Right in the middle of Redwood country lies Patrick's Point State Park, a wonderland of trees and top-notch shorelines. The Park's forests are rich with red alder, spruce, hemlock and pine and the shorelines have dramatic cliffs which overlook the Pacific, home to whales and sea lions. Aside from amazing natural beauty, Patrick's Point boasts Sumeg Village, accurately recreated and filled with family houses, canoes, and a dance house. Today, local Yuroks use the Village and the native plant garden for educational purposes, sharing and perpetuating their culture. Visitors will also enjoy miles of hiking trails and camping, with family sites available.

Located 25 miles north of Eureka California, Patrick's Point is a park located in the heart of California's coastal redwood country. The park's dense forests of spruce, hemlock, pine, fir, and red alder stretch over an ocean headland with lovely wildflower-festooned meadows. A dramatic shoreline ranging from broad sandy beaches to sheer cliffs that rise high above the Pacific Ocean offers great opportunities to explore tide pools, search for agates and driftwood, watch whales, sea lions, and brilliant sunsets. The park offers several miles of hiking trails, a recreated Yurok Village, a native plant garden, visitor center, three family campgrounds, two group camps, a camp for hikers and bicyclists, and three group picnic areas.
