Our Nature Nut Says:

Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park covers 1,750 acres in its main area and is home to a variety of trees including Coast Redwoods, Douglas Firs, and a stand of Ponderosa Pine and California Bay Laurels, to name a few. The Redwoods here are old growth or "virgin," and hundreds of years old; the Park's Grove has a self-guided "loop" walk where visitors can get up close and personal with these majestic giants. There are also 15 miles of additional trails, some of which lead to secluded beaches on the San Lorenzo River, as well as opportunities to fish and birdwatch. Campsites are available for nature lovers who want to extend their stay here at Henry Cowell and to relax and enjoy the incredible habitats at this unique California State Park.
