Our Beach Bum Says:

Some beaches are huge, visible, and accessible and are therefore filled to the brim with people. And then there is Trinidad State Beach. Trinidad State Beach is a hidden little gem where you'll find beauty and privacy all year round.

To get to the actual beach, visitors need to hike a short distance through woods and open bluffs, and then go across meadows filled with flowers. The walk is easy and beautiful and is part of the Trinidad State Beach experience. If that hike gets you in the mood for more, then you'll be in the right spot – Trinidad State Beach has a few different hikes that will give you a better taste of your picturesque surroundings – Rim Trail comes highly recommended! Once down at the beach, you'll look up to high bluffs around you and flowers all over – a beautiful backdrop to accompany you during your day at the beach!

Ready for the beach? Get out that swimsuit and hit the clear blue waves, great for swimming, boating, and fishing. You can even do some light whitewater rafting at nearby Redwood Creek. The Trinidad Harbor is also a nice place to walk around.

Facilities include restrooms, parking, and a picnic area. The best time to visit Trinidad State Beach is at low tide.

Trinidad State beach is located off of Highway 101, about 20 miles north of Eureka, California, near the town of Trinidad. Have fun with your friends and family at this special little beach – just don't go around telling TOO many people!
