Things to do / Travel Guide
The spring and summer seasons are the best times to visit the northern California coast, as temperatures aren't too chilly. Additionally, the coastal and easterly breezes make conditions for outdoor activities quite comfortable in the region during these seasons.
During the wet and stormy winters, the temperatures in the northern California coastal region are mild, interspersed with brief cold spells (as a result of artic air masses), during which snow is not completely unheard of. Springs feature lots of sunshine, high winds and few showers. Temperatures begin to rise slightly in this season as easterly winds bring with them spells of warmer weather. The dry summers of this region are relatively mild and, as a result of the close proximity to the coast, low clouds, coastal fog, and sea breezes are quite common. Fall is the cloudiest and foggiest season, and rainstorms become more common as winter approaches.
