Yavapai Downs, one of just two thoroughbred race tracks in the state of Arizona, has racing during the summer and other events year-round. The live season runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and features Quarter horses and thoroughbreds. Several weeks later it hosts the annual Yavapai County Fair, with horse shows, sales, and other exhibitions held here during the other months.

The track first opened in 2001 to replace nearby Prescott Downs, which had been open since 1959 but was no longer able to stay operational in the midst of the rapidly expanding city of Prescott.

Yavapai offers group rates and assorted packages for the racing season. It even coordinates group busing within the greater Prescott/Valley area. Yavapai Downs is located in the city of Prescott Valley, Arizona, which is about 90 miles north of Phoenix.
