Our Nature Nut Says:

This incredible canyon monument near Flagstaff, Arizona was home to the Sinagua people (literally meaning "without water") centuries ago; a people who still speak to visitors today through revealing archeological findings and cliff dwellings. Visitors can get a feel for the uniqueness of the Monument by visiting the museum, hiking the Island Trail to the cliff dwellings, and walking the Rim Trail along the canyon. There are two interesting ranger-led hikes available by reservation only.
Hundreds of different plants and animals take refuge in the park, many of which can be seen along the park's trails. You may even be able to spot a javelina or an eagle.
