Northern Arizona boasts one winery, and as it is with regions of only one boutique, that one is a goodie. This is Echo Canyon Vineyards and Winery, a place that excels in bringing forth fine wines from Arizona's particular terroir. Echo Canyon's scenery is an indication of this terroir, in which three distinct geological layers of earth contribute to pack the soil with a high quotient of minerals.
Echo Canyon employs only the top varieties available, and works with the finest clones. Thus, you'll find at their store in their tasting room a Cabernet Sauvignon, with great tannins and a full-mouth feel; a Sangiovese, boasting a generous earthy feel and a taste of baked cherries, a Chardonnay with a creamy vanilla nose, and more, of course.
