Outdoor Recreation in Grand Canyon, Sedona, Prescott and Northern Arizona

Things to do / Travel Guide

Grand Canyon, Arizona Outdoor Recreation

Hiking options at the Grand Canyon run from easy, walk in the park, paved hikes along the rim to grueling multi-day hikes to the Colorado River and back, a one mile elevation difference. The Hermit Trail descends into the Canyon and is less crowded and less developed. The hike provides great views – go as far down as you feel like. Just realize that the way back is up. Straight up.

Rafting the Colorado River is one of the great whitewater experiences in the United States. Besides the class V rapids on parts of the river, the canyon views, wildlife and the experience of a week-long or longer rafting trip is not to be missed by lovers of outdoor sports.

Sedona, Arizona Outdoor Recreation

The red-rock landscape of Sedona attracts a very health and nature conscious class of outdoor sport lovers. Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and rafting will place you smack in the middle of the world-famous red sandstone desert scenery.
