Fly into history at the National Museum of Naval Aviation! Dedicated to preserving the history of naval aviation, the museum houses 150 restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard aviation. These historic and one-of-a-kind aircrafts, including a torpedo bomber flown by former U.S. president George H. W. Bush during World War II, are displayed both inside the museum's nearly 300,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on the museum's 37-acre grounds. All guides are retired naval and Marine Corps aviators, which adds a personal touch to the museum tours. The museum also features exhibits on topics such as POWs, conveying the complexity serving in America's armed forces.
The National Museum of Naval Aviation is family-oriented and kids of all ages love strapping into the many cockpit trainers for pretend test flights or trying their hands at defending a ship from Cabot's anti-aircraft gun battery. The museum also offers IMAX® films, projected on a seven-story screen, and visitors can stop in Cubi Bar Café for lunch or dessert and recount everything they've seen!
The National Museum of Naval Aviation is located at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, approximately seven miles west of downtown Pensacola.
