Address:Navarre Beach, Florida

Our Beach Bum Says:

Known to many as "Mom's Beach" because it offers kids the perfect place to get wet, Navarre Beach State Park boasts 130 acres of untouched beauty, from beautiful beaches to lush wetlands. Since a third of the park has been designated to remain completely undeveloped, Navarre is a big draw for nature lovers, but whoever you are, you'll be in heaven when you walk through the powdery white quartz sand and take in the views of the clear Gulf waters. You can enjoy picnics or strolls on the beach among the massive dunes and sea oats or go bike riding on the trails and enjoy views of the Santa Rosa Bay on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. Kids will love watching for coastal and aquatic wildlife like the bottlenose dolphin, manta rays, sea turtles and plenty of shorebirds, and those romantic types will especially enjoy the magnificent Gulf sunsets. If its fishing you seek, brace yourself for an amazing quantity of cobia, mackerel, flounder, redfish, Gulf kingfish, and Florida pompano that can be caught on the 800 foot fishing pier (special bait and tackle are available at the concession stand for catching local fish). Park hours are daily from 8:00 a.m. until dusk and the concession is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and offers cold drinks, snacks and ice cream—all "musts" for that perfect beach day. There are picnic tables at the base of the pier with scenic views of the Beach and the Sound and restrooms are next to the Concession Building. If you decide to extend your stay and spend the night, there's a camping area with hot water and showers plus coin-operated washer and dryer and best of all, you can enjoy the magnificent sunrises when you wake up!
