Address:Flagler Beach, Florida
Want to escape to a pristine Florida beach far from the sounds of everyday life? Then look no further than Flagler Beach. With over six miles of quiet beach and no crowds, you'll find all the rest and relaxation you need right here. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and on the west by the Intracoastal Waterway, Flagler Beach boasts marshes and wetlands filled with flora and fauna that really add to the remote feel here, but have all the outdoor recreation you'll need to stay entertained at the same time. Visitors can plan a fishing trip, enjoy a relaxing swim or bust out the surfboard and hit the waves. Kayaking, golf, and tennis are also available, or if you prefer, enjoy a bike ride along the Atlantic Ocean, or take an eco-tour. Of course, no beach experience is complete without a boardwalk, and the boardwalk and pier at Flagler Beach are located downtown and are just perfect for enjoying the views and salty air. If you've packed lunch along, head for the picnic shelters, located along the boardwalk or just grab a blanket and enjoy your meal on the sand, au natural. For those last-minute picnic planners, there are supermarkets and convenience stores right downtown for quick sandwich supplies. Flagler Beach is also a protected sea turtle nesting area, and Ocean Rescue guards the beach year-round for these endangered friends of the beach. Be sure not to end your trip to the beach without a stroll through downtown and dinner at one of the many restaurants, cafes and pubs. There are also great gift shops and beach stores filled with beach and surf-wear and much more!
