Our Nature Nut Says:

The only State Park in Manhattan, Riverbank is 28 acres of true recreation inspired by urban rooftop designs in Japan. Within its five major buildings, Riverbank has an Olympic-sized pool, a covered skating rink, used for both ice and roller skating, and an 800-seat theater. There is also a 150-seat restaurant, as well as an athletic complex and fitness room on site. Outdoor features at the park include two pools, four tennis courts, a softball field, and more. The most spectacular features here may be the views of the Hudson River, the Palisade Mountains, and the George Washington Bridge, but any way you slice it, this park is truly one of a kind.

From Riverbank State Park - New York:

Wow! This 28 acre multi-level recreational facility is really something. It rises 69 feet above the Hudson River and offers quite a number of recreational and athletic activities for everyone. Also, it's the only State Park situated within Manhattan Island. At this site one can find an Olympic-size pool, a skating rink for summer roller skating and winter ice skating, an 900 seat cultural theater, a 1,500 seat multi-use athletic complex with fitness room and a restaurant. Of course there's the carousel for kids as well and the other outdoor pools, basketball courts, paddleball courts, football/soccer field and picnic areas. There are great views of the Jersey Palisades, Hudson River and in the distance, the George Washington Bridge. Below the park is Riverside Park on which should you decide to head north, will take you into Fort Washington Park. The closer you get to the George Washington Bridge, the more spectacular your picture taking results will be. There are plenty of spots to picnic along the way.
