The A.I.R. Gallery was founded 1972 to provide women artists a space for them to exhibit and promote their artistic works. The gallery also provides women with a support network and provides leadership in the community of women artists. The name, A.I.R. refers to Jane Eyre and stands for Artists in Residence.
The A.I.R. Gallery does not only cater to its artists, but to the general public as well. By offering lectures, running gala events, and exhibiting the artists' work, A.I.R. addresses the artistic community at large and encourages outside support for the women artists.
The A.I.R. Gallery is located at 111 Front Street in Brooklyn, New York.
