Things to do / Travel Guide
New York City is a popular destination regardless of the season. It might thus be best to plan your trip depending on what type of weather you enjoy most, or bothers you the least. While winter is very cold, it is a special time to visit New York City, which decks itself out in festive colors for the holidays. When snow blows in and blankets the city, it's common for locals to frolic in Central Park and even ski down Broadway. April-November is a period pretty much free of frost, but the summer heat and humidity can be stifling.
Spring and fall bring crisp, mild, and pleasant weather to the reason that everyone enjoys. Winters and summers, on the other hand are more extreme. As the autumn progresses and winter approaches, the weather cools significantly. The winters are cold and snowy, with frequent icy winds. Summers, in contrast are hot, humid, and sticky.
