Our Ski Specialist Says:

The planned resort-community of Waterville Valley is as all-inclusive as they come. With slope-side services and the resort base village, or town hall, just a short shuttle ride away from the slopes, this self contained resort is just as convenient as it is charming. Waterville Valley has gained a reputation in recent years for being a well-rounded pick for families, with plenty of children's programming and diverse, family-friendly terrain. In addition, the base village hosts plenty of cute shops, restaurants, lodging, nightlife options, recreation programs and off-mountain winter activities.

Waterville's trails are not the typical narrow New England style. They are mostly wide and make their way through the trees with ample space. The World Cup Slalom is a good place for experts to start. Bobby's run has expert tree skiing areas and True Grit is one of the most difficult runs, boasting big moguls and drops down the side of Sunnyside face. Intermediates should try Bobby's Run or White Caps and Sel's choice. Beginners have limited terrain, but will find Valley Run will suit their skill level, and children have a separate ski learning area. Waterville's four terrain parks cater to every skill level of rider. Exhibition Terrain Park and Halfpipe has a 16-foot superpipe, hips, rails and tabletops. Little Slammer is a terrain park for younger kids, with smaller tables, boxes and rails. Psyched is a medium level park and Burto Progression is for beginners.
