Our Ski Specialist Says:

Said to be the world's second-most-frequently-climbed mountain after Mt. Fuji in Japan, Mt. Monadnock towers high at 3,165 feet in southern New Hampshire. While it is most popular with hikers and nature lovers, this mighty mountain boasts its own winter charms as well. About 12 miles of the trails on the lower slopes of Monadnock Mountain are reserved for experienced cross-country skiiers. These intermediate-level trails are completley ungroomed, and at least 16 inches of natural snow are needed to make them skiable -- enough to cover the signature rolling and rocky terrain. Skiiers should come prepared with their own equipment.
