Our Ski Specialist Says:

Narrow trails wind their way down the pine laced slopes of Cannon Mountain in true New England style. This remote and relaxed ski resort, nestled in the beautiful Franconia State Park in the White Mountains, is classic New England on and off the mountain, balancing its old fashioned charms with up-to-date amenities and renovated facilities. Its remote location provides serene scenery, with excellent views of the White Mountains and open New Hampshire countryside. While the area is known for its challenging, narrow New England runs, there are plenty of beginner-friendly options as well, and all trails are bit more accessible than some of the resort's area counterparts.

Expert skiers and riders should head to Tramline Trail for a challenging and often extreme run full of cliff steps. Three of the trails of the "Front Five" are black, and all five seem to flow steeply into Echo Lake with serious bumps and steep pitches. Classic New England style skiing can be found on Upper Cannon, Skylight or Upper Ravine. Gary's is the easiest of the Front Five and will suit intermediates, who will also enjoy the Middle Cannon and Middle Ravine runs. Several beginner trails are separated from the rest of the mountain, like Bear Par, Fleitman, and Coyote Crossing. First-timers should head to the Brookside learning area across from the Peabody Base.
